Company will match grant to expand employee training in the area of Extrusion Blow Molding Technology
TROY, AL, June 30, 2015: Cox Container, a leading blow molder of bottles supplied to local, regional, and national customers, announced today that it has been awarded $9,368.64 under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This grant, along with Cox Container’s matching funding, will provide training that strengthens the skills of Cox Container employees in Troy, Alabama.
This project is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and made available to the State of Alabama from the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The grantor agency is the U.S. Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administration.
“Cox Container would like to thank Governor Bentley’s administration and the State of Alabama for affording us this opportunity to further train, develop, and grow our workforce,” said Gary Fox, Plant Manager of Cox Container. “Cox Container is always focused on operational excellence and the training grant allows us to train employees utilizing world class training tools.” “This training will contribute to the continuous improvement of our company by developing local Blow Molding talent.”
The new training programs provided by Paulson Training Programs, Inc., will teach Cox Container employees proper extrusion blow molding processing from a science-based perspective. The end result of Paulson’s training is that Cox Container employees will truly understand the “whys” of extrusion blow molding and why they are making specific machine control adjustments in a given situation. Paulson’s training is a long-term solution enabling Cox Container to train an unlimited number of both current and future employees. This will be highly beneficial for Cox Container, as the one-time investment in Paulson’s training will provide many years of returns.
“We are excited about our ability to provide this quality training to our local labor force,” says Fox. “The training will guide our employees on methodologies that will improve on time delivery, reduce defects, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction. These efforts will help Cox Container strengthen our business and enhance our competitive position in the Blow Molding industry.”
